Remember when June Carter-Cash died and Johnny passed away about four months later? Everyone said it was from a broken heart.
I want someone to love me that much.
And I’m not saying that to diss love. Because I love love. I think it’s the best feeling in the world. But at some point, no matter what, it ends in tragedy.
Whether you lose that person physically or metaphorically… It happens.
That’s the part of love I’ve always taken interest in. The part that hurts the most. From knowing that you love someone more than they love you, to knowing that when you lose that person you’re going to completely shut down.
I believe you really can die from a broken heart. Imagine being with someone for over 50 years, and then you lose them. Just like that, they’re gone. You have to go through your routines everyday without them. And although you still love them, your heart is broken.
I’d rather be dead than deal with that everyday.
Maybe it’s because when I love someone, I love them with everything I have. I think that’s how it should be. An emotion as strong as love should never be half-assed. It’s such a strong emotion that no one can fully explain it. The only reason we know it’s there is because we feel it.
Why mess with something like that? Something that, in it’s purest form, controls your every thought. Your every move.
Think of that the next time your love sick. When your chest is so tight you can barely breathe. And you miss someone so much you can barely see straight. You can barely function, you feel like you just may die.
Would you rather be sick… Or would you rather not have them at all?

We thrive off happiness just as much as we thrive off of hardships. Then again, hardships make us do absolutely crazy things we never thought we would do. Love makes us do crazy things. It is also one of the hardest things to do. Have you ever just completely, irrevocably, loved someone? Did it almost drive you insane? I bet it did. Yet, one of the main reasons we are motivated to do anything in this world is for love, to gain love, to keep love, out of love. It’s a pretty large word in our vocabulary. One that, ironically, no one can completely define.
So, if you can’t fully explain it properly… is it even there? Or could it possibly just be another figment of our imagination.
Maybe we just long to care for another human being as much as we do ourselves. Maybe love isn’t real at all. Or, quite possibly… Love is like the air we breathe; you can’t see it. Or breathing in general… you just know when to do it.
But imagine if you actually needed love like you need air to breathe. (A lot of people feel that you do) But I mean literally… With how often we all seem to fall in and out of love these days, maybe we do. Because for the most part, love is highly confused with lust these days. Love isn’t like the movies either, though. There’s a balance, right in the middle of the two. One that, honestly, a lot of people are too afraid to find. Which may be why it comes and goes so quickly these days.
As a famous person once said in a famous quote some time before I am saying this now, though: I am not afraid to fall in and out of love, what I fear the most is to never have one hundred percent, completely, and heart-shattering, loved at all.
xoxo Shelby.

This song live was pure perfection.
I can’t even. Oh dear.
You will always have me.
No matter what.
I could never ever betray you.
No matter what they say.
Or what they think.
I will always be here.
Don’t ever forget that.
You always have someone on your side.
I don’t care if you’re right.
I don’t care if you’re wrong.
You have me.
